Life
There is so much shit to do and so little time.
Gone are the days when you would have a packet of homework for the week, finish it all on Monday, and be free for the rest of the week.
I am amazed by my parents for waking up every day and going to work for the last 25-30 years. I have only worked 3 years now and I am already trying to scheme a way to break out of this ridiculous cycle.
Even with all the travel and vacation time and freedom I have, I still feel caged.
Am I the only one?
If not, what are we going to do?
Run away together!!!

I think it's safe to say no, you are definitely not the only one!!
Run away together? Let's go!!! hahahaha
I think that if you genuinely enjoy your job, it will not feel like work. That being said, I still think having a job is better than having to deal with midterms and papers and finals
Yep, despite the homework pressures, school days are halcyon years. Working for a living is called "The Grind" for a reason. Outside of serendipity like winning the lottery, the road less traveled is starting your own business.
Of course that comes with caveats as well, since the work required for start ups will easily exceed the amount of time/effort put in to the corporate job. The key is enjoying what you do, so that extra time doesn't really feel like "work".
This can also apply to corporate jobs as well - finding something you really enjoy doing.
The safest way is to keep saving for a 30 year retirement while planning an earlier escape- so if the early exit plan fails you still have an out down the road.
Well, this is different...No protected post!? It sounds like you need to start your own business, not work, or find a job that you truly love. It's amazing how differently people feel about the same situations. You get to do so much that other people don't yet you feel caged. Then there are people who would kill for your life, but just haven't made it there. Good luck on your scheme!
@TiRocKiinPiinK - WORKING ON IT!!! I will break free eventually. Yes my protected posts are a lot deeper than this. Well that is my hope at least
Have you asked how your parents do it?
Did you find your career or just a job? A career is something you're passionate and devoted in.. a job just puts bread on the table. Do what makes you happy and enables you to reach self-actualization.
Btw, the getaway car is outside..hop in!
